KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 6): Malaysia is set to make a significant mark at K 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, with the introduction of innovative green rubber and advanced plastics solutions. The event, scheduled to take place from Oct 8 to Oct 15 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will bring together over 3,000 exhibitors and more than 225,000 trade visitors from across the globe.
Malaysia’s participation, led by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), emphasizes the nation’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the global plastics industry. A total of 12 Malaysian companies will showcase a diverse array of products that align with the fair’s theme, "The Power of Plastics! Green, Smart, Responsible."
In a statement, Matrade highlighted that Malaysia’s contributions at K 2025 reflect its strengths in innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility.
"Our presence at K 2025 reflects Malaysia’s strengths in innovation, quality and responsibility. By embracing recycled content, sustainable resins and circular economy practices, our companies are well-positioned to contribute to greener industrial solutions", said Idzham Abdul Hamid, director of Matrade’s oil and gas, chemical, and energy section.
Idzham further emphasized that Malaysian exhibitors are dedicated to reducing waste and meeting international environmental standards. They aim to incorporate recycled materials, helping multinational clients achieve their sustainability goals.
The Malaysian companies will present an extensive range of products that underscore their commitment to sustainability and innovation. These include acrylic sheets for creative and commercial use, specialized materials for flexible packaging, and advanced solutions for film extrusion.
In addition, several participants will introduce biodegradable and compostable resins, sustainable materials, and recycled-content products, further showcasing Malaysia’s adoption of circular economy practices.
Matrade also noted the importance of Germany as Malaysia’s largest trading partner within the European Union. Bilateral trade between the two nations reached RM64.64 billion in 2024, underscoring the strength of their economic relationship.
Malaysia’s presence at K 2025 not only highlights its advancements in green manufacturing but also reinforces its role as a key player in the global plastics and rubber industry. Through innovation and a commitment to sustainability, the country aims to contribute to a greener and more responsible industrial future.
